Welcome: We are excited to announce that Mr. Tim Maddalena-Lucey is joining our teaching staff - specifically our Science Department. Mr. Maddalena-Lucey will be here November 1st and we look forward to his arrival. We are thankful to Catharine Engwall and Jeff Bachey for keeping us moving forward in the interim.
Great Opportunity: We are looking for students who are interested in supporting a Genders & Sexualities Alliance (GSA) here at Windsor School. On November 8, there is a GSA conference in Randolph, Vermont and we are looking for students who would like to participate. Transportation and lunch will be provided. Please reach out to Julia Burakian @ julia.burakian@wsesu.net or stop into Student Services by October 23rd to learn more. There are slots available for up to 4-6 students.
This is a MUST-GO-TO event if you want to:

First Aid Field Day, Saturday, November 18th Are you interested in pursuing a career in medicine? Join NVTAHEC and GIV for a First Aid Field Day!
At this completely free one-day event, you will have the opportunity to learn life-saving skills such as CPR, bleeding control, and patient assessment from trained medical professionals, as well as gain insight into the inner workings of Vermont’s Emergency Medical Services.
The day will conclude with a mass casualty incident simulation where you will have the opportunity to put your new skills into action by assessing and triaging patients during this fun and exciting scenario! Lunch will be provided.
A Day in Vermont's Capital, Sunday, November 19th Would you like to learn how to impact issues facing Vermont? Do you want to meet other students from around the state who want to work for a better Vermont? Are you concerned about the housing crisis in Vermont? Join GIV for “A Day in Vermont's Capital!”
At this completely free event, you will:

Tour the Statehouse with a legislator as your guide.

Attend a panel discussion with policymakers about the housing crisis in Vermont.

Meet and share lunch with elected officials and students from around Vermont.

Learn about how VT government develops laws and the challenges to move legislation forward.

Engage in a floor debate for proposed bills in a Legislative simulation, addressing VT’s housing crisis.

Join a session on organizing and mobilizing youth for change, led by VSARN.

Youth Environmental Summit: YES is an annual conference for middle and high school students to learn about environmental issues and get involved in local communities. The mission of YES is to inspire, encourage, and prepare youth for a life of environmental responsibility, service and leadership by increasing awareness and knowledge of environmental issues and fostering leadership skills. At YES participants engage in hands-on workshops, action-inspiring discussions, networking with environmental professionals and like-minded peers, and much, much more! Learn more here. VTeen 4-H Science Pathways Cafes: Join us this school year for in-person cafes where you will meet scientists, learn about their work, explore different science pathways, and engage in hands-on activities and informal discussions. Our next cafe is on Saturday, Oct 21 at the University of Vermont is being led by world-renowned scientist Joshua Bongard. Come learn about AI-designed Robots. VTeen Leadership Weekend: November 17-19, 2023. VTeen Leadership Weekend is a fun-filled weekend developing important skills and traits that will help you stretch and improve your leadership, communication, problem-solving, teamwork and other transferable skills to take back and use in your club work, school and community.
